Torbuy has been setup as a fundraising website to support Voluntary and Community Groups in and around Torbay. It has been developed in conjunction with Torbay Citizens Advice Bureau, Torcom, CVA Torbay, Groundwork Southwest and The Big Lottery Fund.

Fundraising is one of the most important activities for any voluntary or community organisation. Without funding most groups cannot provide the wide range of community activities and services which help to make Torbay such a wonderful place to live and visit.
The site helps raise money for the community in the following ways:
Voluntary and community groups can have their own Storefronts.
Storefronts for Voluntary and Community groups have no listing or final fee. All listings have standard features including upto 8 pictures per listing. This means all income from the listings goes directly to the group owning the Store.
Storefronts will automatically be available when your account is registered, all charity accounts will be subject to approval by the administration team.
Business storefronts operate in the same way as the voluntary and community group stores except for a small subscription fee to help fund the site and support free stores for community groups.
Any charity or business can start a storefront. This will also allow you to list your items on your own customisable webpage on Torbuy, this will allow you you to have your own direct internet address to your storefront and give you additional benefits, like newsletter and additional pages for your charity/business.
Every week hundreds of volunteers provide a wide range of help and support to the people of Torbay. To help recognize this important role, the site offers a discount for anyone doing two or more hour’s voluntary work per week. Contact the admin team by using our Contact Us page.
Anyone can buy or sell on Torbuy. Sellers can choose whether their listing will be available for auction or sold as a classified listing. Income from the listing and final fee will help support Torbuy and the local community.
To keep the site as simple to use as possible and to ensure the highest level of security available, Torbuy currently offers two methods of payment on the site, you can either use PayPal or you can use Torbuy’s own account balance system.
Income raised as a result of transactions on Torbuy will be used to fund the running costs of Torbuy and Torcom. Any income above this sum will be used to support the voluntary and community sector.
